As per vaccination schedule of my baby there are 3 vaccines for Rotavirus and vaccination name in chart mentioned as Rotateq. As of now 2 vaccines of Rotarix has been given to my baby n doctor advised that there is no need of 3 vaccine for Rotavirus as we hv given Rotarix in place of Rotateq because 2 vaccines Rotarix is equal to 3 vaccines of Rotateq. My baby is 3 months old as of now n 3rd vaccine is scheduled on Aug 01, 2016. Can you please advise if 3rd vaccine of Rotarix is needed or not?

Answer:
Considering your son was administered the Rotarix vaccination he doesn't need the third dose as Rotarix (RV1) contains an attenuated human rotavirus strain; 2 doses are given in the series. Hope this answer your query.
