Changes in the body after a cesarean section are similar after a vaginal delivery, only thing is there is a scar over abdomen. Your body gain weight by deposit of fat and retaining water, this is there along with laxity of the abdominal muscles. There may be stretch marks over the tummy and breasts due to stretching of skin. Breasts enlarge and start secreting milk. Uterus is still big after childbirth, it takes 6 weeks to come back to the prepregnancy size. Bleeding and discharge (lochia) continue after the childbirth for 3 to 4 weeks. Some women also get hairfall and skin changes for some months after the childbirth due to hormonal changes.
