can i give mother dairy toned milk to my 8 month old baby.. he is on breast milk.nutrition Corner
As per American Academy of Pediatrics, Cow’s milk should be used only from 1 year of age as it can cause digestion related problems or allergies or even intestinal bleeding. Babies put on Cow’s milk at an early age are also at risk of developing Iron deficiency. We will advice that if you are not able to breast feed then Formula milk fortified with DHA and iron is the best option as it is closest to breast milk. Give Full cream milk till 2 years of age and skimmed can be given from there on. Initially try diluting it with water in ratio of 1:1, and slowly make it less diluted and within a month baby should be able to take undiluted milk.
