Here are some of the healthiest foods you can eat for breastfeeding. 1.Water- to ensure good milk supply.. Include Water, milk, soup and non caffeinated drinks but restrict on juices. 2. Whole grains- Extra calories that we were talking about should come from these foods. Whole wheat atta, daliya. Brown rice , quinoa, Museli etc.. All variety of dals, all types of beans particularly, rajma, channa, soyabean, lobhia, and even Sprouted dals.They are excellent source of protein, fiber plus some vital nutrients that wil keep you active, healthy, keep you full for longer time plus help in bringing you back to your original weight. 3.Eggs..If you eat eggs, then Eggs are a quick, easy and great choice for meals or even as a snack. They’re rich in protein, choline, and other nutrients. 4.Leafy green vegetables- Leafy greens are rich in vitamins A, C, E, and K and minerals including calcium as well as fiber and antioxidants. . Add them to your breakfast omelet, chapati atta, dals, salada or rice or blend them into a smoothie. 5.Nuts and seeds Nuts and seeds are packed with nutrition and are a great source of protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and healthy monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. So eat a handful of almonds, trail mix 6.MILK & DAIRY – You need extra Calcium you need extra fluid plus you need extra nutreints, so all this is well packed in a glass of milk. Therefore take 500ml/day or equivalent milk in a day.. All these will ensure good milk supply plus will also help you to recover quickly. Also when taking any of these check on your baby's tolerance. Some foods, mainly greens can give indigestion problems to baby if on breast milk. In that case avoid it for some time
