Hello, I had my c section, due to which i expressed after 2days. Till then my baby was on FM and was fed with feeding bottle. When i started to breastfeed her directly, she kept rejecting my nipples. I then had to pump my breast feed and give it to her through feeding bottle. I have flat nipples and the baby is now used to the feeding bottle. i tried nipple puller, nipple sheild but all efforts in vein. Met a lactation consultant too. Tried new ways of holding breast to feed my little one, but still she rejects it. My little one is of 1 month. she was born on time but was under weight i. e 2kgs. in this one month she gained 750 grams. regarding taking breast feed directly , I've now lost hope. Any guidance or remedies. please help

Answer:
Do not worry, donot lose hope on breast feeding you will be able to do it. But you have to be little patient. For this, firstly, try to put the baby to the breast as often as possible (every 2-3 hours at least). Even if the baby isn’t feeding, have skin-to-skin time. Keep the baby close to your body as much as possible; touch his cheek with yours this will also help. Or try using a pump or hand express for 10-15 minutes on each breast 4-5 times in a day. Baby may not like to suck so for that you can first take out milk with the help of breast pump and then put baby on breasts or take out milk and use the feeding bottle to feed your milk. All in all, continue trying to breast-feeding, as this will ensure healthy growth of your baby. Hope this helps. Take Care
