Hello, I have twin kids of 1. 6 yr. I hv to struggle a lot with them especially while feeding them. so I choose to mash their food watever I'm giving them.. atleast I'm satisfied tht thy are eating all healthy food and timely but I doubt it wil b a habit or thy wil b able to eat solid whn thy grow up.. am I doing right or I need to change this and strt giving thm solid food. wat healthy food I shd give fr breakfast lunch n dinner.

don't worry eventually they would start with solids. If the child prefers soft, mushy food only, give only that for the time being. Give soft foods like porridge ( dalia, suji, sago, rice flakes etc). You may also give vegetable upma of suji, ragi etc. You can gradually introduce solid foods in diet, by giving one or two bites of it. You can give slice of apple/pear or stick of carrot to chew on.Try and make your child have meals with family. This would encourage him to start with solids. Show him chewing your foods. Give gaps between meals so that he is hungry enough to eat. Children also follow each other. Seeing other children eat solid food would also encourage him to chew. You can give porridge of suji, sagi, dalia, rice flakes, ragi etc. Kheer of apple, rice etc. halwa of suji, atta, pumpkin, gajar, sweet potato etc. Khichri, upma, soft scrambled egg yolk, soups, mashed veggies, chapatti, rice,idli, dosa, uttapam,fruits etc. Hope it helps.
