Hello, my son is almost 4 years old. He has never been a good sleeper. As an infant as well, he would wake up multiple times despite being fed and changed. Even now he gets around 9 hours of sleep each day. I've heard most moms of kids this age say that their kids sleep for 10+ hours. My son wakes up multiple times at night, and then just keeps tossing and turning in bed, takes a long time to go back to sleep. He still needs one of us to be with him till he falls asleep and in general has a very disturbed sleep, very fidgety through the night. I fear this is going to affect his functioning through the day, his immunity, etc. I'm not sure what to do to help him rest and regenerate. He is in school from 9am to 5pm and has a lot of activity through the day. Despite all the play he still has a lot of energy when he's back home. We stick to a sleep routine - bath, prayers, story, sleep. I've tried lavender baths, essential oils, nothing seems to work. How can I help him?

Answer:
Night time average sleep time is 9 to 10 hours and there may be no nap in 4 years old child. So your kid is ok.
