Hello, My son is almost 4 yrs old and I am a working mother. My husband also works in a private company. While I am at work, my parents take care of my son. He goes to LKG in a nearby school. My son seems to be very adamant and aggressive in nature. He does not listen to any of my words and hits me back whenever I say a 'No'. Even while I am just standing or doing other work,s ometimes he will come and hit me. He does hit my other family members but very less. Also if he wants something, unless he gets it, he will not remain quiet and make a big ruckus. I have tried to remain calm/ punish him/ignore him for these kind of behaviors but it is just increasing day by day. I am feeling that I am unable to establish any connection with him. As I am employed, during weekdays I am unable to spend time with him. Even in his school, I had some complaints from his teacher that he is very aggressive and adamant. He does not mingle with kids easily. I am not sure how to handle this situation. Please help!

hi Archana , This could be an attention seeking behavior for your child . so for few days ignore his aggressive behavior and try to give him loads of attention and your time and when he behaves aggressively simply in one word tell him that it is not acceptable to you and that hitting may cause injury to others . Keep him occupied in some activity or the other . In case all this does not work take help from a psycologist to help you with various methods on managing aggressive behavior.
