Hi, I have a 2 month baby boy. He started taking vaccine but there are two different vaccine list available. one is the national immunization schedule and the other one is from IAP. Can you suggest me please if following IAP is better protected or NIS is sufficient?

Answer:
National Immunization schedule is decided based on various factors, most important being cost, cost-effectiveness and the logistics of administration. This schedule covers "basic essentials". IAP schedule covers "optimum". It lets you know what should ideally be administered and at what age? IAP schedule covers everything that National schedule has and goes beyond that. Depending upon the resources available you can choose the schedule accordingly. Hope this helps. Take Care
