Hi, I have a 5 weeks old baby who is being breast fed. She is very fussy most of the time when we put her down, she likes to be held all the time. She is very gassy. I am not sure if my breast milk is making her gassy. Can you please let me know any food to avoid for gas and others that are beneficial?

Answer:
I hope you are well.
Colic is common in infants, you can contact your child's pediatrician and get medication for the same.
Also , make sure she burps after every feed and after feeding her walk around with her in your arms and avoid putting her to bed immediately.
The reason why she asks to be held is that she is unable to tell you that the gas is troubling her :) Infants don't know what being fussy means, they have different ways of explaining things to their parents, especially the mother.
Add these foods to the diet, these can boost milk supply and are good for your health too.
-Whole grains
-Garlic
-Green leafy veggies
-Ginger
-Fenugreek seeds or methi
-Nuts and seeds
-Oats
-Barley
-Fennel seeds (Saunf)
-Cumin seeds
-Star anise seeds (badiyan ka phool)
-Sesame seeds
-Turmeric
-Drumsticks
-Carrots
-Black sesame seeds
-Salmon fish
-Sweet potato
-Basil
Avoid adding foods like capsicum, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower to the diet often :)
