Hi, My baby is 3 weeks old, initially when he was born, I could not lactate for few days, due to which he was on formula milk for few days, later when I started lactating. He was on Breastfeeding.. And now there is adequate supply of milk but I need to express it every few hrs.. N thn I end up giving the same express milk through bottles as I feel totally exhausted after pumping.. But now when I try my baby to breastfeed, he simply refuses n only drinks expressed milk through bottles. I m feeling very guilty for the same. Plz advise if any nutrientanal value decreases because of this or is this process will provide harm to the baby in long run. Thanks in advancenutrition Corner
it is better to put baby on your breast directly and feed him. Once the baby has taken his feed, then you may express the extra milk and store it in fridge/freezer. In case you are lactating more than the requirement, you can check online/your paediatrician for breastmilk banks. This would help mothers who can not lactate.
