Hi. My baby is two and half months old. I pump and feed breast milk through bottles every time. Initially, when I had low milk supply, I was giving him formula as he kept on crying feeding at my breasts. I had severe cracked nipples and there was blood coming out 2 or 3 times. So, I decided to try pumping and it worked. My milk is enough most of the times. But, I still have painful nipples even after two and half months of pumping. Is it normal or do I have to visit a lactation consultant? Sometimes left nipple hurts like crazy. Please reply. Thank you.

Answer:
you may try using nipple shield while pumping and some exercise to pull out nipples using index finger and thumb. Visit a lactation specialist if the pain is unbearable. All the best and do keep us posted.
