Hi, my child is one month old and I want to be able to feed him anywhere and that's why I want to express my milk using a pump. however, I tried using the most basic breast pump which is manual but the suction part was quite painful. Does all breast pump cause pain or pumping is genuinely painful? should I still try using one? and what is the timeline of using breast pumped milk? how long can I use the expressed milk?

Answer:
Usually manual breast pumping shouldnt hurt you but if you feel the same pain during normal breast feeding too then kindly follow this blog to reduce the pain. https://www.parentune.com/parent-blog/sore-nipples-5-home-remedies-new-moms-swear-by/2361?lang=en If you are not feeling any pain during normal breast feeding then try to change the pump. Kindly go through the blog which can help you on how to store the expressed milk and duration of how much longer it can be used. https://www.parentune.com/parent-blog/how-to-safely-store-breast-milk-for-your-baby/772.
