Hi my daughter is 2 years 11 months she's 12. 3 kg is she underweight? Also she's anaemic what should I include in her diet tried most of the common iron rich foods.

the child is not underweight. However, you may give more of these foods Use whole milk and its products like curd, paneer, cheese, buttermilk etc. You may give these as fruit shakes/ fruit lassi. Cheese or paneer can be cut into small bite sized cubes, so that they can use their fingers to eat these. Alternatively paneer/cheese can be added to their roti/sandwich/dosa/uttapam etc. Increase intake of dals/legumes like black channa, cowpea, eggs (hard boiled cut into small bite sized pieces or omlette etc.) poultry-liver part/fish (curry, snacks, cutlets, tikka, in rice or in soup). Give more of fruits like mango, banana, cheeku,litchi, grapes, dates, watermelon Give more of potato, sweet potato, colocassia, yam, dark green leafy vegetables,. You may add these to their roti/sandwich/soup. Nuts like walnuts, almonds, peanuts and dried fruits like raisins, currants, dried apricots.
