Hi, My daughter is 4 months old. She doesn't take sufficient milk from me. But I have sufficient milk to feed her. I'm worried about her weight. She is 5kg. Can I start formula for her now. Please guide me. How to give formula for her she is not used to bottle. Thanks in advancehealth Corner
If you are lactating well, then feed her breast milk only as that is the best milk for the baby. You could express it via pump and store to feed her later as needed. Use clean katori/spoon ideally as easier to sterilise. Milk bottles are not preferred because of the risk of infection with them. You can give formula too but if there is sufficient breast milk, you may not need to. Monitor her weight regularly to see what is working best for her. Hope this has been useful.
