hi, my daughter turns five from this July and she's a single child. she's very shy with people from outside including her school teachers. this makes me anxious about her social behaviour. please help me out with this. thank you.education Corner
Some children are naturally shy. The worst thing to tell them is 'don't be shy' and 'go and talk'. It is essential we accept our child's temperament and help them navigate through their surrounding. Your child may be more sensitive and aware hence understanding from her perspective is important. Emulate confident behaviour and social skills at home Do role play with her so that she knows how to respond. Enact real life situations. Help her to respond to questions. Introduce her to books. She may have very few friends but the friendship would be deep. Please read this blog, this may be of help. https://www.parentune.com/parent-blog/my-child-is-shy-what-do-i-do/497 All the best and do keep us posted.
