Hi, my son cries alot before sleep. he don't want to sleep willingly, and makes excuses as he want to go outside, or see dogs, cows or cats. sometimes I feel irritated, and almost ready to slap him.. but later I feel he is a small kid. Plz give me any solution, so I can make him sleep willingly, when he's tired.education Corner
There is no use getting stressed. Patience has to be the key word here. He is 1? So til the age of 2 he is at the exploratory stage so he wants to know everything around him. Follow a set routine of putting him to sleep. The time of dinner , night bath and sleep time should be consistent. He should know it is time for bed. Sit with him. Tell him a story or read a story. Do not worry about repeating. Children like repetition and do not get bored. Keep a favourite toy that will not be hazardous near him. This toy should be only for sleep time. Say a good night. Kiss him. Make his dad also say a good night and if you have any other members. Come out of the room. He will cry. Ignore. If he cried for more than 15 minutes, go back to him and talk softly and lull him to sleep. Come out. He may cry or complain but it is best to ignore and he will gradually sleep. I hope you have a separate crib for him.
