Hi my son is 2. 1 year old,he is very underweight he is just 9. 8 kgs,I tried everything from colourful good nutrients foods,he just take one bite and reject rest,I tried different varites too but he just eat lil and say no ,all HD is intrested to eat sweets which I am giving in restricted quantity, his pead says he is 2 kgs underweight to be on average scale, henis below fifth percentile weight,I am so worried and trying everything possible to make him eat,I know being active is important, but because of his underweight he falls ill so easily,I want him to gain atleast 2 more kgs,pls suggest something for his weight gain,please don't say weight does not matter,he looks like a one year old baby his weight is just 9. 8 kgs,height 83 Cms,and 18 inches head circumference, need a expert advice

Few suggestions to helps him gain weight are Use whole milk and its products like curd, paneer, cheese, buttermilk etc. Fruit yogurt made of full-fat milk, full-fat milk based puddings like rice kheer/fruit custard/vermicelli kheer/gajar halwa. Increase intake of dals/legumes( either mashed, in soup or as khichdi dal-roti mash, eggs (as nogs or in soups), scrambled egg with added milk/fresh malai, poultry/fish (cooked &minced or soup) Give more of fruits like mango, banana, cheeku,l itchi, grapes, dates. These may be added to their milkshakes as well. Fruit smoothie especially made of banana, honey and nuts Potato, sweet potato, colocassia, yam besides other vegetables. Boiled potato/ sweet potato with melted cheese & little butter, boiled potato with hummus dip, Nuts like walnuts, almonds, peanuts finely powdered. Sandwich with peanut butter. Well mashed dried fruits like raisins, dates, currants, apricots etc. Hope it helps.
