Hi... my son is 3years 4 months. Since March he has been only at home due to the Covid situation... He has always been less social but I always encouraged him to play with other children in the park... but now since so many months he has been at home only... I am just worried about his Social development... His grandparents too live far away. Can I do something at home for his Social development?? Also, since schools aren't yet functional, I am trying to teach him writing at home... but he isn't much interested... Most of the times he just scribbles with colours and sketch pens... he is a left handed too... how can I teach him to write??

Answer:
I can understand your worry. Don't worry about his social development. He is doing fine. You can help him at home in different ways by talking to him and telling him what you are doing, your feelings, talking to him about the food your cooking. Encouraging him to talk and share. Ask him questions that are easy for him to answer. Give him a lot of toys to play. You can also play act with him like, you and him can talk to the dolls or act as if you are going to a zoo. Let him listen to nursery rhymes. Read for him. Do not teach him to write at this age. He will not show any interest. This age is a age to learn by listening and seeing. Writing will come later after the motor skills are developed. You can give him crayons to draw and colour. Don't give him a pencil yet. Do activities like tearing, clay modelling, beading to enhance motor skills. Take Care
