Hi, my son is 8 months old and his birth weight is 2. 7 kgs. He is very active. I usually give him a mashed fruit in the morning rice dal with vegetables like carrot peas in the aftwrnoon and cerelac or some other fruit or vegetable puree for dinner. Rest of the times I feed him breast milk. Last time we checked his weight was when he turned 6 and he was just 6. 7 kgs. He is within the range but on the lower side. My question is, Is this normal or i should try something else for him to put on some more weight. People keep saying that he looks lean.

Answer:
please don't worry as the weight gain of your child is good. A healthy baby normally doubles his birth weight by 5 months, which he has and has gained well over it. You are also feeding him well, so keep doing that . A child should be healthy and active, being lean doesn't matter.
