Hi need to ask a query. My LO will be 4 months old soon. she is on lactogen since birth her birth weight is 2. 680kg and now its 5. 5kg. she has been gaining weight consistently but this month she just gained 500gms. she has been regular in taking feed 90 ml every 3 hrs then the hrs extended to 3. 5-4hrs. but since past week she is very much inconsistent in taking feed she just drinks 60-90ml every 6-7 hrs. Night she sleeps from 10pm to morning 9am she wakes up 3 times to feed she drinks 90-120ml. but during daytime her frequency n quantity of feed decreses she hardly drinks. she drinks after 7 hrs just 90ml or after 5 hrs 60ml. i am concerned about it her weight gain is not happening. she used to pass urine 10-15 times she wears diaper whole time i change 5-6 times they r very heavy. but past one week most of her diapers either are plain or just as if she has peed 1-2 times. i mean she might be peeing 6-7 times a day. poops everyday once. We took her to ped she checked n said she might be teething as her gums are hard. i asked her if its due to formula becos these days she is very gassy n cries when she farts. but docter said that no need to change some gas is common in babies. but i somehow feel its becos of formula she just doesnt drink enough n just pushes the bottle away. I am very much tensed help me pls... do i change the formula if yes which would be good n easily digestible...

Answer:
Its really upsetting to know that you started with Formula at a very early age. breast milk is the best, easily digestible plus least allergic. If you feel baby is getting acidity/ gastric issues then try changing the brand and go for the one with probiotic added. Also feed small amounts initially to check baby's tolerance. Next feed baby in an upright position and make sure that baby is not taking in air during feeding and lastly after feed pick up bay and help him to burp. Teething may make baby irritable, may affect his appetite, may cause fever or diarrhoea.
