Hi. Please guide me. How to improve my son's eating habits. He is going to be 5years old. But still he is irritating a lot. It takes me almost 2hrs to feed him a meal. He just chew n chew.. But doesn't sallow the food.. M very sad of my son's eating habits.

keep a gap of at least 3-4 hours between his meals, so that he is hungry enough to eat. Allocate fixed time for his meals. That is the child should finish his main meals in 20-25 minutes and for snacks give 10-15 minutes to finish. If the child takes longer than that remove his plate. Over a period of time the child would start finishing his meals on time. You also try and include his favourite foods and give more variety.Try and make your child have meals with family. This would encourage him to start with solids. Show him eating your foods. Give gaps between meals so that he is hungry enough to eat. Children also follow each other. Seeing other children eat solid food would also encourage him to eat. Hope it helps.
