hi SWAPNA NAIR , I have read that link but it's still not enough as its making me more confused. can you suggest me some good school in Borivali in Mumbai. I just want my daughter to be well prepared for her future career.... so what is better like going for IGCSE or ICSCE........ what is the difference in its curriculum and teaching method. Do we need extra tutorial for both? I see all boards as incomplete..... so should we combine any boards like till 5th STD ICSCE and later IGSCE or what...... it's total confusion. if you had that young daughter what would you prefer for her and why? Eagerly waiting for your reply. It will really help me a lot .THANKYOU

Answer:
Oh I understand your concern. Sorry that wasn’t helpful. Let me give you some more pointers on this. CBSE - it is aligned to the central board. It is good if you are in a transferable job. It focuses largely on science and math. Medical and engineering entrance exams are easy to take because it is aligned to cbse. Of course the method of teaching would vary depending on the quality of teachers and school. ICSE - a student can sail through till grade 8. It is very application oriented and children enjoy till grade 8. After that it focuses on board exam curriculum and goes very deep. So the learning load doubles. ICSE gives importance to humanities. IGCSE And IB. IGCSE is easier from the boardexam point of you. A student will be eligible to study engineering or medicine in India. You would need extra coaching to prepare for the entrance exams. IGCSE And IB are very child centres curriculum. IB gets tougher in 11th and 12th. A child would enjoy both these curriculum because the pressure faced in other curriculum will not be there. Learning will be activity based or project based. These schools are also more expensive in those fee structure. Also it would pave the way to studying abroad too. Hence you could choose a school as per your vision , your views on safety , activities , finance and other factors. It would good to choose a few schools; visit the campus; interact with the parents and students before making a final decision. All the best
