Body Hair
Thin, soft hair on the baby's body is called as called lanugo Lanugo is defensive in nature. They protect babies from exposure to amniotic fluid in the baby bag.
This Infant hair automatically sheds away over the course of time. The newborn hairs are too light and get naturally removed until the time of birth and to a more extent, by the age of 4 months. Sometimes it is also genetic (if parents have hairs on body baby too have them)
To remove excess hair from your baby's body you can try these:
- Massage -Body oils are highly recommended to get rid of body hair. Massage your child with body oil which suits your child's skin.
- Homemade scrub- Wheat flour+Gram flour+ turmeric, when used as a massage paste is fruitful in diminishing excessive hairs. As it softens the root of the hair and helps them cast off easily.
