Answer:
One of the best ways to develop reading habits among children is by introducing them to the very concept of interest-based reading. The normal behaviour now-d-days is to read academics and not go beyond, where as , we can introduce a child to her interest areas through books early on. Apart from the above, introducing your child to fiction/non fiction as per his/her age may work really well. You could also encourage your child to play the "build your story" game from books, which is that, you pick up a book, read any para, and then you need to imagine the story there on and build it up. You could also help him build a collection of their own books, and do a book reading day at home every week with your family, you and other family members could also read out from your own favourite books. Introducing to reading clubs may also be a good interest creator for them. Enroll in a lending library. Expose him to varied types of books from comics to fiction. Hope this helps! Ihope this helps.
