I am pregnant with first child. In first check up, one doctor was consulted. The doctor just gave a prescription of folinal and to go for a blood test and ultrasound check in 7th week. When asked to advice on diet and lifestyle, the doctor just advices to avoid papaya. And that was it. Now I seek a second opinion on nutrition and supplements to take in first trimester.

Answer:
I hope you are doing well. In the first trimester, there needs to be an increase in 250-300 calories in the diet. Even in pregnancy, you can need to consume a well-balanced diet. -Consume foods that are rich in fiber such as fruits, vegetables, oats, daliya, beans, and lentils. - Add enough protein to the diet ( dairy products, lean meat, eggs, lentils, beans, and nuts). - Include good fats in the diet (nuts, seeds, fish, lean meat) - Drink at least 10-12 glasses of water per day. - Do yoga for 30 minutes daily. -Avoid outside food and foods in high calories. - Keep stress at bay and do activities that you like, it could be your hobby as well. For the supplements, please take the supplements as instructed by your doctor :)
