I know this problem is general nowadays but the question is very crucial. My daughters dont eat without a television or cartoon.. they are hyperactive and dont listen to me in the first four attempts. shouting at them is becoming common for me. is this some form of adamancy? the same children listen to their grandpatents or friends easily. i don't want them to listen to me blindly as i dont want to create dependant overprotected children but the question is how to develop respect for the work they do without hurting the childs self-esteem

Answer:
Yes it is a commonly observed issue now a days. Try taking meals together, them and you and your husband.. And tv or ant gadgets during eating is total no no.. Even if there's a call answer it post dinner.. It will take time to brk the habit but it will. Here are some more tips https://www.parentune.com/parent-blog/children-and-tv-viewing/199?lang=en
