There is no harm or drawback. It all depends on how much amount you are giving and if baby is tolerating it well. If baby is developing digestion related issues or is have loose motions, then it needs to be stopped. It is advised that you start with very small amount, like 1/2 date in a pureed form and check for baby's tolerance and then gradually increase to 1 date per day and continue with it. In addition you can gradually introduce baby to other foods like, almonds, pistachio, cashew, walnuts, prunes etc. But again start with small amounts & start with one food at a time.
