My 5years old son is watching TV and cell phone for long time and he is becoming stubborn and crying, sgouting if I switch off them or if I take them from him. He will play inside home for some time and outside for some time. So in this age, is it ok to continue him to watch for 1 or 2 hours intermittently? How to deal with him?

Understand your concern. I am glad you are thinking on healthy ways of entertaining your child. It is because s/he might have got habituated from little time by now ,Is that so? It is helpful if we could avoid any undesirable behavior right from first time. Please check following blog for some tips Majority of the behaviors of a child are picked through their observation and environment around. And children also turn aggressive by the content they watch on screen also any violent or ggressive content beware of ,Also routines help children and they need routines. Allow him to play after he returns for 1 or two hours. Allot time for all his activities including entertainment. Set a time period to study for 1-1.15 hours. In this period allot 20 min studying, 5 min break slots. Be gentle and firm that he has to follow the routine. Allot consequences and privileges. Talk to him about it. When he completes studying or writing give him a sticker. When he gets 7 stickers give him a reward. Please be patient and give him lots of love and affection. Slowly all this routine will help. Too much of screen time will impact his cognitive development and affect the quality of sleep too. Please find some handy tips here I hope these give you some ideas.
