if you are lactating sufficient amounts then till one year you can continue with your milk only. Once the child is one year old you can start by replacing one of your feeds with top feed. You can start with a lesser amount of 50 ml or so and then gradually increase the amounts according to child's acceptance. Formula milk is made of animal milk only and has added nutrients to match it most closely with breast milk. Some prefer fresh animal milk (not cow's) over formula milk. Packet milk is pasteurised animal milk only which is more hygienically packed and hence safer.
