my baby boy smit is not eating properly. sime times he eats only rice item loke khichadi, sweet khichadi, but not eating chapaties. and he is having only breast milk no cow cow milk no formula. And her weight cant gain. i am so worried for that so how can i gain weight of him.

you need to limit his milk feeds and alternate them with solids. Start with a spoon or so and gradually increase the amounts of feed according to his acceptance. Keep a gap of minimum 2 hours between his milk feed and solid feed, so that he is hungry and accepts e. Introduce only one food at a time, let him have it for 3-4 days and then introduce another food. Initially keep the consistency pouring/flowing and then thicken it according to his acceptance. Keep seasonings very mild, as babies don't generally like very strong flavours. Keep enough gap between his meals. Include him favourite foods, give variety of foods, and make him have his meals with family. This would encourage him to eat on his own. You can also try serving him little portion of food, in attractive bowl, plates etc. Give foods like rice, porridge etc which the child can eat with spoon initially, as it is easier. Once he starts to eat these foods then you can offer him chapattis in roll form or small bites. You can also try giving some gravy/dal/curd with chapatti to make it easier to chew. Use whole milk and its products like curd, paneer, cheese, buttermilk etc. Fruit yogurt made of full-fat milk, full-fat milk based puddings like rice kheer/fruit custard/vermicelli kheer/gajar halwa. Increase intake of dals/legumes ( either mashed, in soup or as khichdi, dal-roti mash, eggs (as nogs or in soups), scrambled egg with added milk/fresh malai, poultry/fish (cooked &minced or soup) Give more of fruits like mango, banana, cheeku,litchi, grapes, dates. These may be added to their milkshakes as well. Fruit smoothie especially made of banana, honey and nuts Potato, sweet potato, colocassia, yam, besides other vegetables. Boiled potato/ sweet potato with melted cheese & little butter, boiled potato with cream cheese dip, Nuts like walnuts, almonds, peanuts finely powdered. Well mashed dried fruits like raisins, dates, currants, apricots etc. Hope it helps.
