my baby is 1 and a half months old. today I have taken her vaccination and they gave her DPT vaccine which is painful. my baby cried a lot which was heartbreaking for me. later I came to know that there is painless vaccines available. but I also came across some reviews saying painless vaccines are less effective. please clear my doubts. since I have already given painful vaccine for the first dose... can I opt for painless vaccine from the second dose? and also explain me which vaccine is safe for the baby. thank you.

There has been lot of debate back and forth about which vaccine is better. The bottom line is that both are safe and will work well as long as they are taken regularly as per schedule. The 'painless' one may also cause some discomfort and fever though the chances are of course higher with the non painless variety. If your baby has had persistent crying/significant discomfort despite paracetamol or even more severe symptoms - you can change to the other type from next time onwards.
