my baby will turn 4 months now... hes 6. 5kg. hes average of gaining weight is reduced nw... say earlier he was gaining 30 gms per day n nw jus 5 gms per day.. doctor hv adviced me to start giving english marie biscuit one per day soaked in a luke warm water.. should i start feeding my baby this.. i am very much confused whether to give or no.. plzz help me with this.

the weight of the baby seems fine. There is no absolute weight for the babies below one year of age which is considered healthy. There is a range of weight and generally birth weight of the baby is considered.The baby should be consistently gaining weight. If the baby doubles her birth weight by 5 months and triples by one year, it means the weight gain is good. You should wait till the baby is 6 months old. This is because any other food would not provide the nutrients, which milk does. Moreover the digestive system is still developing and may not have enough enzymes to digest other foods properly.
