my child is 5 years old. till 4 years he was a very good performer in school. he displayed a highly developing trend in school. recently I have shifted to new place. he is not able to make friends in his new school. he has become very irritating. he does not listen to his parents. he starts crying at very small things. Please suggest what to do?

I understand your concern. The shift is a huge change for a child of his age. It can be traumatic. Please look at it from his perspective. New teachers new classmates. He has come away from his comfort zone. Give him six months time. He will gradually adapt. Meanwhile do not stress him about participating in activities now. Share your concerns with his teachers. They will help in pulling him into activities. He will open up in time. Take care.
