You could do the following: 1. Gift her a nice pictorial dictionary (some of the latest ones are not too expensive and are good quality) . Help her to learn to use the dictionary whenever she needs help with a new word, concentrate on the pronunciation as well as usage, both are equally important. 2. Gift your child a daily diary, where she could write any 2/3 things before going to sleep, only one challenge while writing, that to use at least 2 new words every day. 3. Get your child herfavourite books and similar interest areas-books to explore more and find meanings to newer words. 4. Have a game of scrabble every weekend and make it like the fun family time, anyone whose word is not clear, needs to find it in the dictionary- will also help her understand that she could soon get to a very good level of vocabulary let us know how it goes. For writing - Here are a few handy tips which may be of help. The quality of writing can be improved through practise only. Everyday set aside 15 minutes for writing. Sit alongside her and do some writing sothat she is encouraged by your behaviour and imitates you. Tips that can help improve : Practise on a white board Practise on a 4 line book. Do not stress on any style. Stress on neatness. So the size of letters and leaving space between words is more important. Children improve as they grow older so please be patient.
