my elder daughter Arushi is turning 14 ..she has become very arrogant and doesn't take much interest in studies... doesn't completes her school work also. She likes watching movies ,t. v. and listening songs. Though I try to stop her but she doesn't listen... and became very rebellious. plz help what should I doeducation Corner
She has entered her teens so there will be resistance. You can try these: 1. Sit down with her when she is in a good mood. Plan a timetable using her ideas. 2. After school she can be allowed to play or watch tv for an hour . Give her some good snacks. After this she can use the time table 3. An example of a time table that children normally like is when they get breaks in between. 4. So let her study for 45 minutes and then take a break for 10 minutes. 5. If she does not like to sit and study, you can find out what she has learnt at school and play a quiz on the lesson. 6. Ask her to teach you the topic. 7. Making her studies like a game will help. Try these concentration techniques: 1. Ask her to circle the letter 'e' from a passage. 2. If she likes to listen to music, play an instrumental piece and ask her to listen the non dominant instrument. 3. Doing a puzzle/ scrabble/ crossword. 4. Colouring/painting 5.
