My son is 18+ months old & started recognizing some body parts like he shows his body parts while asking i. e. head, eyes, ears, tounge, hands etc. & also utters some words like Papa, mumma, Dadu, Dadi, Many, Nano etc. but still he hasn't started uttering sentences. I am worried when he will start telling or expressing himself ?? How should I teach him talking or expressing ?

Answer:
Dear Amrita. At 18 months a child can say 1 or 2 words together. There is still time to say a full sentence. An 18 month old will say ,' want biscuit' instead of full sentences. At this age please do not correct him. Instead try to understand his communication and reply suitably. You have to constantly applaud and encourage him. Talk to him ; listen to him and reply in full sentences. So he will pick up new words from you. Give lables to toys, pets, trees etc. This will enhance his vocabulary. Listen to story books, rhymes and songs.
