The age at which weaning is started for prematures may be a little more than full term born babies. You can check with your paediatrician on this too, between 6-8 months. You can give cooked and pureed vegetables and fruits like apple, pear, plum, potato, sweet potato, carrot, beets etc. Mashed banana, rice porridge can also be given. Keep the consistency liquid and start with once a day and gradually increase the number of solid feeds to thrice a day. Introduce wheat products like suji, dalia only after completion of seven months. All the best and do keep us posted.
