what are the milestones at the end of 5 months??child-psychology Corner
The fifth month is a time of transitions for your baby. You can expect him to make his first attempts at real speech. He will kick his legs; begin to roll from back to tummy. He’s also gearing up to start crawling, which would be a few months away. Five-month-old babies can sit upright for longer periods of time. Your baby probably still needs to be propped up with a pillow but he may also be able to sit unsupported for a few seconds at a time He will enjoy play. He will hold and grasp toys better. Give soft and safe toys as he will tend to suck on them. Baby will begin to sleep through the night. Set up a good bed time routine. Don’t wait till baby is cranky to put to sleep. Have a routine. Give a warm bath ; sing a lullaby; dim the lights and put him to bed when he is drowsy. This way he will soothe himself to sleep. He will need a nap in the morning after breakfast and after lunch. Baby will love music. It is good to sing songs or rhymes to him. He will begin to babble basic sounds with no meanings assigned. Childproof your home for the coming months.
