How To Help Your Child Read Fluently

Sep 02, 2021, 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Some of the activities that you can use to attain success in strengthening your child’s reading skills include reading aloud a variety of content to your child. Use different kinds of books, both easy and difficult. This would help to enhance vocabulary and fluency. You should also read while your child just listens sometimes, and also encourage your child to read along with you at times.

Keep the dictionary handy, instead of a mobile app. Encourage use of a dictionary at all times. In between reading, encourage your child to use their imagination. For eg., while reading, stop in the middle and ask them to predict what will happen next. Encourage note taking while reading. Ask your child to sit with a notebook.  Let them highlight text while reading.

Hello Ma'am ! Thank you so much for all your valuable suggestions. Ma'am my child is 9 years old. Though we converse both in Hindi as well as English at home, still my child is unable to read her 4th class Hindi textbook chapters fluently. Due to which she is hesitant to read it in her online classes as well. Also she does lot of mistakes in matras while writing in Hindi. She has taken sanskrit as her third language. Since she knows these two subjcets are her weak points , she keeps on cribbing while studying these subjects. And She is not happy to practice writing in these as well .kindly guide how to help her overcome her hesitation.

My 4. 5year old will be starting his new year of school in the coming week. This year they will be focusing on reading and writing. The school has already introduced them to phonics and kind of gave them an idea of putting together a letter and vowel in the last year. My son, however, is finding it hard to understand how it works when two letters are put together ( for example BA) how do I help him slowly understand this? He is super interested in stories. How do I encourage him to start reading small words?

My 9 year old child doens't want to read books. I have been trying hard since past one year. He is more interested in playing games on computer . I know I have started inculcating this habit late, when he was 8 years old. Am I too late in doing so? Please guide me will he ever take up reading books as a hobby, and enjoy reading. Also give tips so that this comes true.

My son is born in a multilingual joint family. I am comfortable in Tamil, my Husband speaks fluently in Hindi as well as Konkani language, my sister-in-law speaks punjabi, and my brother-in- law speaks in English. My son is 5 years old . Most of the times he is confused and can't converse in any one single language fluently. What can be done so that he is comfortable in carrying out conversation without confusion? Will reading books in major Languages help or will this make him further confused. waiting eagerly for your suggestions. THanks in advance!

Indeed, companies that are engaged in the creation and further support of the project are now very popular on the market. Not so long ago I came across an article http://light-it.net/blog/brief-guide-creating-profitable-investing-app-similar-robinhood/ and now I'm also thinking about trying to make such an application. There is money in stock and I would like to invest it so that it brings profit, do you think it's a good idea?

Thanks for the interesting lecture! I think this is very important for many parents. Also now, in my opinion, it is very important to develop software in the field of medicine - this helps to simplify consultations, and if we are talking about developments in the field of AI, VR / AR, then this is a big step into the future. I learned a lot from this blog - https://computools.com/chatbot-development-services/
