As a parent we are living in a time and age where our information consumption has been digitalized and is available with a click of a button. We see children spending a good number of hours hooked on various digital devices such as smartphones, tablets, computers as they surf the internet, play online games, use social media and engage in instant messaging. Gradually they start becoming victims of Smartphone addiction and are unable to get away with this addiction.

Hello ! My two children 10 and 8 years old, play Roblox with each other on different computers even while their classes are on. I have tried everything but in vain. They don't want to study at all and are on their own gadgets the entire day . What should be my approach in dealing with them?

What is the right age for a child to be given his personal mobile phone? My 11 year old has been demanding a phone since the beginning of this academic year. He says all his classmates have their own phones and they all chat with each other. Should we give him a phone when we already know he too would start chatting on it once given and might also deviate from his path?

Shrishtika, my 14 year old girl wants to make YouTube videos. We come from a very simple family, where girls are not very active on social media and internet. My husband and I,too use mobile very judiciously. Should we allow her to make vidoes? If yes, what can be done so that she doens't get addicted to it or falls prey to it?

My 7 year old son duirng the screen break time starts to play games on computer and then ignores the next class link and continues to play. I have to be present around and give him continuous reminders to join the class. As soon as the class is over he again starts playing for hours together. When told his privileges will be taken away, he says he won't attend classes from next day in that case. How do I make him serious about studies?
