My elder son is 8 years old. One moment he would be fine playing with his 4 year old sibling and the other moment he would start shouting at him loudly or hitting him badly. Then he would not talk to anyone for an hour or two. Again after few hours he would start hitting his brother for no rhyme or reason. His younger brother is also getting aggressive due to all this repeated beahvior of my elder one. I have tried talking to my elder one quite a number of occasions, but he doesn't understand and reapeats this behaviour. How do I deal with his mood swings?

My 9 years old daughter sometimes would just not speak with anyone and go to her room and sit there for hours. She would not come out of the room even on being called repeatedly. She doesn't like to mingle with agemates. On being asked she says she doens't like talking to anyone. Please guide me what could be the reason for sudden change in her behaviour and her mood swings? I am really concerned about her well being. How can I make her open up with me?
