Hi. Pregnancy belly gradually goes away after delivery or cesarean even when a sterilization has been done. Some of it may remain and exercise, yoga and a healthy balanced diet definitely helps in removing it. You can start exercise. Your doctor can tell if its fat or muscle laxity upon a checkup 2020-03-30 14:03:02

Hi. First thing to do would be to check for a pregnancy by doing a home test if you have missed a period. Women with PCOS may face a challenge in conceiving as the egg production from ovaries is irregular and unpredictable. Along with advice and medicines as given by your doctor, you should also follow a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise as this regularixe periods and increases chances of a pregnancy. You can also talk to your doctor regarding further medication to help you have a pregnancy and aid in egg production. All the best 2020-03-30 14:08:01

Baby movements are generally felt at the end of 5th month in first pregnancies and about a month earlier , that is at the end of 4th month in higher order pregnancies. 2020-03-30 14:11:22

Hi Mamta. Bleeding during pregnancy can happen due to many causes such as threatened miscarriage, a low lying placenta, seperation of placenta, growth on mouth of uterus etc. Although , most of the women having bleeding in pregnancy go on and have healthy babies, still it is not a good sign and may indicate something serious. So, it is very important to talk to one's doctor. 2020-03-30 14:17:28

Hi, scientifically ,good age to become a mother for the first time is before 35 years. Practically, it's better before 30 years. Being obese can affect hormones adversely , it may pose problems in becoming pregnant and also increase the chances of complications in pregnancy. If you have family history of obesity, exercise regularly and follow a healthy balanced diet. Ideal weight is the one that lies in healthy body mass index range. Body mass index for a person is calculated as per gender, weight and height. Talk to your doctor for defining the ideal weight for you. 2020-03-30 14:23:48

Some guidelines to increase hemoglobin are:include plenty of fruits , vegetables and leafy greens, whole grains and sprouts, black grams, beetroot, dates, figs, jaggery, ragi and oats, eggs, red meat and fish, green beans, brown rice, nuts and seeds etc. It is also good to add citrus fruits such as orange and lemon to your meals as they increase iron absorption. Avoid taking tea and coffee with food.Take supplements regularly and do not take iron and calcium together as they may hamper each other's absorption. Take them with seperate meals. I hope this helps. 2020-03-30 14:29:59

Hi. It's important to check her blood pressure, hemoglobin and kidney function tests if there is swelling of feet in pregnancy. Talk to your doctor for this. She can put a pillow beneath her feet and elevate them to relieve swelling. She should also avoid prolonged standing and sitting with dependent legs. Ask her to rest adequately and take a healthy diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and leafy greens. Take supplements as given by doctor regularly. 2020-03-30 14:34:02

There are many methods of birth control including condoms, intrauterine contraceptive device, birth control pills, contraceptive injections, vaginal rings etc. The ideal method for you is the one that is effective, acceptable to you and is safe. You should talk to your doctor for a counselling and advice before choosing and going ahead with any of these. Birth control pills are very effective , but need to be taken everyday regularly and may have some side effects. Intrauterine contraceptive device or copper T requires one time insertion inside uterus that may be slightly painful, but it is very effective and works for 3 to 5 years. You can choose among injections also , which are given every 12 weeks.I hope this helps. 2020-03-30 14:40:30

Firstly an ultrasound for well being and dating of pregnancy is done generally at 6 to 7 weeks. Blood tests to check for the mother's health are also done that includes hemoglobin and blood counts, blood group, urine routine and microscopy, blood sugars, thyroid profile, hemoglobinopathy screening, certain tests for viral infections like HIV, hepatitis B, Heparin C , VDRL etc. 2020-03-30 14:45:58

Normal delivery can happen even if your blood pressure is high , but it is possible only when complications are not there due to high blood pressure (such as effect on platelets, kidney or liver), there is no imminent danger to mother and the baby and the BP can be controlled with medicines. A delivery also depends on the ripeness of cervix, if cervix is not ripe and delivery is expected to take long, then it is not the preferred way. Your doctor is the best person to guide you regarding the best approach to deliver the baby, follow your doctor's advice. All the best. 2020-03-30 14:52:13

Low blood pressure does not put the pregnancy at risk, just keep òn having plenty of oral fluids. High blood sugars during pregnancy can cause a lot of problems and complications in pregnancy, So, it is better to control them before planning to conceive. If one has already conceived and sugars are still high, then one should talk to the doctor and seek guidance regarding control of sugars with medication and healthy diet. 2020-03-30 14:56:45

Dr Pooja Mittal
Stretch marks in pregnancy may not be completely preventable despite all measures. However, one can apply Bio oil or any good natural oil such as olive/coconut oil or coco butter. This keeps the skin supple. Drink plenty of fluids orally to keep yourself hydrated. Some stretch marks may fade away gradually on their own over time after childbirth 2020-03-30 15:01:36

Home remedies to avoid stretch marks would be : to have plenty of oral liquids, avoiding itching over you skin if its happening, apply a natural oil such as coconut or olive oil 3 times lightly with fingers. If itching or irritation happens on skin, seek medical help. Applying oatmeal is also said to help. 2020-03-30 15:11:17

Hello madam..I am 23 week pregnant. My doctor had recommended me to have fetal echo scan as she found a well circumscribed mass measuring 5.5.6 X 4.6 mm with an echogenic brighr density suggestive of rhabdomyoma in the baby heart during TARGET SCAN. Later I had my fetal echocardiography. In this scan results found as USG findings most likely S/O rhabdomyomas. Post natal confirmation. Ma'am I am totally worried.Doctor said it may leads to pits after baby's birth and she is also not sure about continue the pregnancy. We are in a delima whether to continue or tirminate. Waiting for your opinion pl.

Dr Pooja Mittal
The best person to advise if the pregnancy should be continued or not would be a fetal medicine specialist. A rhabdomyoma in the baby before birth can coexist with other problems such as neurological developmental delay, muscular problems and other defects. It can also cause acondition called hydrops in the baby where there is accmulation of fluid in baby's organs leading to early delivery and also rhythm defects of heart and heart failure in baby. The extent of these problems need to be judged and evaluated by doing additional testing before deciding the course of pregnancy. Hence, you should speak to your doctor and also a fetal medicine specialist regarding this without delay. 2020-03-30 15:18:07

Dr Pooja Mittal
A reduction in number of period days may be normal after childbirth and as age increases. Heavy periods are not Normal, so speak to your doctor for this to rule out causes such as thyroid problems, hormonal disturbance, fibroids etc. Treatment is then done as per the cause 2020-03-30 15:24:07
