Hi Aqsa, How are you doing.. Here are some of the healthiest foods you can eat for breastfeeding, plus at the same time it will take care of your indigestion. 1.Water- this will ensure good milk supply.. Include Water, milk, soup and non caffeinated drinks but restrict on juices. 2. Whole grains & Millets- This will give extra calories during this period. Under this comes, Whole wheat atta, daliya. Brown rice , quinoa, Museli , ragi, jowar, bajra etc.. All variety of dals, all types of beans particularly, rajma, channa, soyabean, lobhia, and even Sprouted dals. Firstly, by now you would be knowing which of these suit you and take that as your staple grain. They are all excellent source of protein, fiber plus some vital nutrients that will keep you active, healthy, keep you full for longer time. 3.Eggs..If you eat eggs, then Eggs are a quick, easy and great choice for meals or even as a snack. They’re rich in protein, choline, and other nutrients. Again check, if you are unable to digest them then go with only egg white. 4.Leafy green vegetables, like, palak, methi, bathua, corriander.. Add them to your breakfast omelet, chapati atta, dals, salads or rice or blend them into a smoothie. Greens like, palak is said to be good antacid. 5.Nuts and seeds- As these sometimes, can cause indigestion, So eat a handful of these and avoid the ones that do not suit you. 6.MILK & DAIRY – You need extra Calcium you need extra fluid plus you need extra nutreints, so all this is well packed in a glass of milk. Therefore take 500ml/day or equivalent milk in a day.. If you feel that milk at the moment is causing indigestion, instead of stopping milk, go for lactose-free milk, home-made dahi, probiotic rich yogurt and paneer. 7. Fruits- If acidic fruits is a problem, go for bananas, apples, pear, papaya as these are not only healthy but keep indigestion also under check. All these will ensure good milk supply plus will also help you to recover quickly. Also when taking any of these check on your baby's tolerance. Some foods, mainly cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli can give indigestion problems, in that case avoid it for some time. 2020-04-23 14:07:40

Hello Sandy, Hope all well.. First coming to the pregnancy part… During pregnancy, you can eat all fruits excepting papaya, which is known to cause early contractions. Also, during pregnancy some women develop indigestion or dislike for certain fruits, so you can avoid those and go for the rest. Regarding cereal and grains, you can go for all, focussing more on whole grains as they are rich in fiber and B vitamins. Fiber will prevent you from constipation which is a common problem of pregnancy and B vitamins will keep you energetic. Again look at which of the cereals and grains suit you. Regarding foods to increase your breast milk supply. There are many natural and healthy foods that increase milk supply plus they do not cause any harm to babies. These are Carrots, Beet, Dark green veggies like Spinach, Oats, chickpeas, nuts,, sesame seeds, ghee, almonds, cashew, gardencress seeds, edible gum methi seeds and some , spices like, ginger, saunf, black pepper, , aijwain, caraway and turmeric but these foods should be taken in moderation. Plus, drink plenty of water and atleast 2-3 cups of milk in a day, to ensure good milk supply. Finally, eat healthy, remaining calm and relaxed plus willingness to feed will all ensure a good milk supply. All the best and take care 2020-04-23 14:21:15

Hello Chandni, kaise hain aap.. Breast milk bachche ke sucking par nirbhar karta hai.. Jitna baby Health Drink karega utna hi milk banega.. Agar milk supply bardhana hai to 1. Sabse pehle dekhein ki bachcha aapke breasts se ache se juda hua hai aur uska naak dab nahin raha aur bachcha aasani se doodh le paa raha hai. 2. Doodh thodi thodi der mein pilayein, aur thoda lambe samy tak pilayein, jise ki bachche ko fat yukt doodh mile jo bachche ka pet lambe samaya tak bhara rakhega. 4. Aap khud 2-3 glass dooddh ya doodh se bani cheez lein aur saathi paani bhi zyada matra mein lein. 5. Kai aisi, sabzi, phal ya khaane ke padarth hain jo doodh ki matra barhane mein sahayak hain, jaise ki, Carrots, Beet, hari sabzi, like palak, Oats, channa, badam, kaju, pista, til, ghee, gardencress ya aaliv beej, gondh, methi daana , saunf, aijwain, aur haldi. Bache ko sone ke pehle, cereal dein, jo bachche ka pet lambe samay tak bhara rakhega aur din mein doodh aur solid ke beech mein kuch smay ka antar rakhein. Doodh pilane ka ek schedule banayein jisseki samay samy par doodh dene so doodh banna kam nahin hoga. Koi bhi dawa bina doctor ki jaankari ke na lein aur sabse important baat, hamesha khush rahein or kisi be prakaar ka stress na lein. 2020-04-23 14:31:24

Hi Victoria, How are you Lets first understand the reason behind poor milk supply as it will help you to restart it successfully. Breast milk supply is hormonally driven in the first few days after delivery, next, supply-and-demand soon helps in increasing the production: Basically, the more you feed, the more milk your body produces to keep up with baby’s needs. Breast milk production is low in the first week and then, slowly starts increasing and reaches the peak by 2nd month and all this is possible if baby is fed exclusively breast milk and that too on demand. Early introduction to bottle or formula puts baby off the breast milk, And as feeding gets reduced the production also slowly starts decreasing. And this is exactly what happened. But please do not worry or feel stressed, you can restart breast feeding and increase the milk supply. Stress will not help but aggravate the problem. Remember that the best way to increase milk supply is to relax, eat healthy, and feed baby often. Re-starting breastfeeding, may be difficult initially but not impossible, keeping in mind the fact that No milk can match up to Breast milk. Exclusive Breast feeding for first 6 months will help in the healthy growth of the baby plus also provide him immunity to fight against various illnesses and is great for baby's brain development. As said earlier, Breastfeeding works on supply and demand basis, so more the baby feeds and more the breast is stimulated, more milk is produced. For this, firstly, try to put the baby to the breast as often as possible (every 2-3 hours at least). Even if the baby isn’t feeding, have skin-to-skin time. Keep the baby close to your body as much as possible; touch his cheek with yours this will also help. Or try using a pump or hand express for 10-15 minutes on each breast 4-5 times in a day.. Initially milk supply will be low, but gradually it will increase. Baby may not like to Health Drink on empty breast so for that you can first take out milk with the help of breast pump and then put baby on breasts or take out milk and use the feeding bottle to feed your milk. All in all, continue trying to restart breast-feeding, as this will ensure healthy growth of your baby. In addition, there are many natural and healthy foods that increase milk supply plus they do not cause any harm to babies. 2020-04-23 14:36:15

Hi Priya, Hope you and your family is doing fine. At this age, babies are introduced to new foods. So best is to give only 1-2 solid feeds and only 1-2 tablespoon in each feed. Offer 5-6 milk feeds (150-175ml per feed) Continue with breast milk, do not stop or reduce it. As baby grows older you can give more amounts in each solid feed. Start with single foods, like pureed apple or rice cereal and when baby is well adjusted to it, you can offer other foods like, pureed carrot, sweet potato and mashed banana. Slowly you can move to ragi porridge, rava kheer, mashed dal, etc. Make sure you do not add spices or sugar to any of these foods. Also at this age, milk still remains the main feed hence do not reduce or replace with milk feeds. 2020-04-23 14:38:32

Hi Dear, How are you doing.. Firstly do not worry and do not get stressed. During pregnancy women have an increase in a pregnancy hormone called HCG. This can cause your urine to have a strong odor and this is especially true in early pregnancy, which is in your case as well. Plus, women also have increased sense of smell during pregnancy which may add to it. Drink plenty of water, and increase water intake by way of taking coconut water, infused water or soups. Avoid taking juices or cola drinks. Home-made nimbu paani with less sugar is also a good choice. If you are still concerned, you can call up your doctor and discuss. 2020-04-23 14:40:24

Hi Shrishti..How are you? Any cereal feed given at night is quite a filling feed and keeps baby full for a longer time. So if baby gets up at night, try giving her just 1-2 tsp of water at night and see if she is fine with that, because most of the times baby is getting up to ensure that mother is around and sometimes its also thirst. Regarding the day time feeds, at this age offer 3-4 small solid feeds(1/2 cup in each feed) and 3-4 milk feeds. Offer small amounts and do not force feed.. Foods, like, Small pieces of Bread or toast, Slices of cooked veggies like, carrot, sweet potatoes, white potatoes or Slices of soft fruits like, Banana, pear, or slightly cooked apples rolled in cereals or Piece of Cheese/paneer. Include foods like, Infant cereals, like oats/ragi porridge, rava/ragi kheer, fruit custard, khichadi, dal-rice, Upma, idli, soft dosa, yogurt, cheese, paneer, pureed cooked meat, beans, and egg yolk. Offer foods in small amounts, offer more frequently that after 2hours and keep a gap between milk feeds and solid feeds. Offer 1-2 tsp of water after every solid feed. Plus after feed make sure baby burps, baby is sitting and not lying down. Plus always feed baby in an upright position and not in lying position. All this will prevent acid reflux. 2020-04-23 14:44:07

Hello Saroj, Hope all well. Pregnancy ke samy maa ka wazan barr jaata hai jo ki normal hai. Breastfeeding karane se maa ka wazan kam hota hai, aur saath hi aapka doodh aapke bachche ke liye bahut poushtik bhi hai, isiliye, apna doodh dena bandh na karein. Khaana thodi matra mein aur thodi thodi der mein lete rahein jo aap dono ke liya bahut achcha hai. Khaane mein atta, bajra, ragi, jowar,ka prayog karein, phal, sabzi bhi achchi matra mein lein, doodh ek din mein kam se kam 2-3 baar lein aur yadi doodh nahin le paa rahin to dahi, paneer cheese ka prayog karein. Agar aap anda khaati hain to hafte mein 3-4 baar zaroor lein aur saath hi dal, chana, rajma, in sabko bhi apni diet mein lein. ankurit dalein bhi aap le sakti hain. Khane mein tel, ghee, shakkar kam matra mein lein aur saath mein paani zaroor piyein. Juice aur cola drinks na lein. Kisi bhi prakar ki dieting follow na karein kyonki isse doodh banna kam ho jaata hai. 2020-04-23 14:58:34

Hi Pooja, aap kaise hain..Healthy aur poushtik khaana khaane se doodh bhi acchi matra mein banega aur saath hi aapka weight bhi nahin badega. Hamesha yaad rakhein ki jab maa apna doodh pilaati hai to wah bahut jaldi apne pehle ke weight mein aa jaati hai, isiliye doodh pilane se aapka weight nahin badega. Apne khaane par dhyan dein aur dieting na karein. Khaane mein, phal, sabzi, atta, ragi, jowar, bajra, anda, dal, channa, lobhia, rajma, doodh, dahi, paneer in sab ka prayog karein. Khaana thodi thodi matra mein, thodi der mein lete rahein. Adhik matra mein shakar, tel ghee , juice, biscuit, mithai, lene se wazan badta hai, isliye inka prayog kam karein. Jab bhookh lage tab aap phal, ya sabzi ka salad, doodh, dahi, chaas, nariyal paani, lein. Saath hi agar ho sake to ghar mein kuch exercise karein. 2020-04-23 15:07:21

Hi Jyoti, How are you.. Breast milk supply depends on sucking and the willingness to breastfeed. The more the sucking, more will be the milk production and more will be the supply. To ensure good supply- 1. Make sure baby is latched or attached well to your breasts as this will ensure good sucking. 2. Make sure baby is positioned well. For this..hold baby with your arms forming a C shape and face completely turned towards your chest. Nose not pressing on to your breast so that baby can breathe weel and chin is touching the base of your breast. Baby should be comfortably taking the maximum breast portion in his mouth. 3. Feed more often and for longer time on each side, this way baby will get fuller and richer milk that will keep baby full 4. Drink plenty of water and atleast 2-3 cups of milk in a day. 5. 6. Do not take any medication unless prescribed by doctor and avoid excess of coffee. 7. Remain happy and relaxed and do not get stressed. 2020-04-23 15:10:27

Hi Shrishti, Yes swollen gums and painful teething can cause poor sucking. You can try massaging your baby's gums with your fingers preferably if the fingers have been kept in ice cold water or just gently massage ice cube from outside. THis will give some relief. Also you can check with your doctor on some mouth gels that give relief.Giving mashed frozen banana or apple puree may help 2020-04-23 15:13:21
