The world-wide-web has opened up the entire cosmos for children of this century and due to this fact, they have access to even the info they shouldn't yet be explosed to. They think they know the entire universe and have the authority to say whatever they feel like to anyone questioning. It's not just the Internet but also the type of association a child remains in, for most of the hours on a daily basis. They pick things fast, and at times, it becomes challenging for parents to deal with the type of language children speak and the way they behave at home and outside.

This live chat has been organised keeping the above concern in mind where Swapna Nair (Child Psychologist and Education/Career Counselor) adddresses all your questions related to the topic. Join the live chat and queup up your questions below, right away.

Good to know that he is progressing at his pace. It would be good to go along with his pace and interest. As you teach and guide you will be able to help him cope. Most important is that you remain calm and patient while teaching him. Use more of visual activities. 2018-11-20 15:01:57

Your child may be restless and inattentive due to his speech delay hence a very patient and calm mindset is required. Do not be in a hurry to make him on par with other children.Allow him to learn at his own pace. 2018-11-20 15:04:05

It is upto us to set the right example or role model the behaviour we expect 2018-11-20 15:29:28

Swapna Nair
Our first response is it to get irritated. Instead practise a clam and patient mindset. 2018-11-20 15:29:54

Observe the triggers. What makes your child rude? At this stage children express themselves by speech and action. They are beginning to think independently. 2018-11-20 15:31:08
message user image
whatever we tell her she relies badly 2018-11-20 15:31:47
message user image
Swapna Nair
Hence observe. When your child misbehaves, wait a while and then go down to her level 2018-11-20 15:32:10
message user image
Swapna Nair
Look into her eyes and firmly tell her how you expect her to behave 2018-11-20 15:32:30
message user image
Swapna Nair
We tell them what not to do. But are we telling them what is expected 2018-11-20 15:32:51
message user image
Swapna Nair
Rehearse the reply expected 2018-11-20 15:33:08
message user image
okay mam thank U. 2018-11-20 15:33:30
message user image
Swapna Nair
Then guide her to apologise 2018-11-20 15:33:31
message user image
Swapna Nair
Let hertell a sorry. Then remind her what consequence would take place if she misbehaves 2018-11-20 15:34:03
message user image
Swapna Nair
And follow theconsequence so that she understands that you mean what you say. 2018-11-20 15:34:29
message user image
Swapna Nair
Children will test our limits. Hence we have to be calm and follow this through 2018-11-20 15:34:54

Take care 2018-11-20 15:35:02

Children in autism specturm will lack in social skills. So please do not force. You may help him by offering what to do. He may respond. If he likes a person he may socialise. If not do not stress him. Leave him be. 2018-11-20 15:43:53
