Hi Sepia, there is no scientific/medical study to which suggests that eating particular food like any fruit or sweet may give cold. 2016-02-20 11:01:25

Hi Shivi, you may give more of these foods Use whole milk and its products like curd, paneer, cheese, buttermilk etc. You may give these as fruit shakes/ fruit lassi. Cheese or paneer can be cut into small bite sized cubes, so that they can use their fingers to eat these. Alternatively paneer/cheese can be added to their roti/sandwich/dosa/uttapam etc. Increase intake of dals/legumes, eggs (hard boiled cut into small bite sized pieces or omlette etc.) If non vegetarian habits then include poultry/fish (curry, snacks, cutlets, tikka, in rice or in soup). 2016-02-20 11:47:02

Hi Dr. My daughter is 3 yrs and 4 months, since September 2014 she joined nursery she's been getting cold every month and if she eats rotis, bread, milk, biscuits, wheat and milk stuff including cheese, jam citrus fruits too like oranges, grapes, her cold is xoming back and its jus upper respiratory where her nose gets blocked always. I don't understand how to keep her away from these things which are easily available. Recently 5 months back I came across blood type diet and realised that the things which make her get cold needs to be avoided totally and those are the things which are mentioned above. Now I give her pediasure with haldi once or twice everyday as per her diet and her cold is gone. Both of us are allergic to dust from dogs and we have two dogs at home. Pls advice if there's anything else I can do to help her doctor.

Hi Puja, My son Viraj is five years old and though he eats well, he falls sick quite often. My MIL says C-Sec babies have low immunity. What do I do? Please suggest. His daily meal routine is Morning 6:30 Bowl of cereals (dalia, or chocos, or sooji kheer) or Big mug of milk with sooji rusk. School lunch he takes one fruit for fruit lunch and Roti sabzi for lunch and a small packet of glucose biscuits to satiate the hunger pangs at 1:20pm. In the afternoon he has two chappatis kneaded in a vegetable stock along with mixed dal or whatever vegetable has been prepared this is around 3 pm. At 5 pm he again has either milk or a bowl of chocos, goes out to play and around 6:30pm he has one fruit again and then around 8pm he has dinner, which is one chappati again with whatever vegetable has been prepared at home. He has egg only on Saturday and Sunday. Please help.
