hi ravi! 2016-01-13 19:06:59
message user image
Hii Nitin 2016-01-13 19:07:09
message user image
Nitin
i personally feel that preschools are great for early learning years, in fact better than the formal school setup and children should start going to school only when they turn 5 or later, and that too schools which have a good, informal learning environment rather than 1 teacher and 40 students in a KG. 2016-01-13 19:08:25
message user image
Ok 2016-01-13 19:09:36
message user image
How do I select a pre-school? 2016-01-13 19:09:49
message user image
Nitin
in case you are looking at boards other than CBSE, I would you to explore ICSE, IGCSE or IB 2016-01-13 19:09:58
message user image
What should I look for while selecting a pre-school? 2016-01-13 19:10:00
message user image
How does it differ when I select a school? 2016-01-13 19:10:35
message user image
Nitin
For a preschool - look for 1. proximity from house 2. infrastructure for play in the preschool 3. teacher quality 4. parents feedback- who are sending their child to the preschool 5. feedback policy 6. safety 2016-01-13 19:11:45
message user image
Nitin
schools would be largely same except that , proximity from home would become a little more than preschool, it could be say 25-30 min travel time 2016-01-13 19:12:34
message user image
Nitin
education board would also play a role in school selection 2016-01-13 19:13:28

Nitin
hope that helps 2016-01-13 19:13:34

heloo sir 2016-01-13 19:14:36
message user image
Nitin
could you elaborate on the shift to CBSE and the reason behind it? 2016-01-13 19:15:03
message user image
Nitin
Was there any concern at the IGCSE? 2016-01-13 19:15:32
message user image
actually I was suggested by veryone that if arham wants to study in india...give any competitive exams... CBSE is more helpful...I.B is helpful only if u want ur child to study abroad so i shifted him 2016-01-13 19:16:48
message user image
I STAY IN GURGAON.. IF YOU COULD SUGGEST A GOOD SCHOOL... ACCORDINGLY 2016-01-13 19:17:40
message user image
Nitin
ok, so you are concerned about his performance in competitive exams post school. right? 2016-01-13 19:17:48
message user image
YA... 2016-01-13 19:17:56
message user image
Nitin
which grade is he right now in? 2016-01-13 19:18:08
message user image
HES IN 6TH GRADE 2016-01-13 19:18:21
message user image
Nitin
and which school? 2016-01-13 19:18:41
message user image
PRESIDIUM 2016-01-13 19:19:03
message user image
Nitin
ok 2016-01-13 19:19:26
message user image
PREVIOUSLY HE WAS IN EXCELSIOR AMERICAN SCHOOL 2016-01-13 19:19:27
message user image
Nitin
it's a fair concern that an IB/IGCSE board doesn't sync well with the Indian competitive exams. 2016-01-13 19:20:05
message user image
BEFORE THAT IN MUMBAI..RUSTAMJI CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL 2016-01-13 19:20:10
message user image
OH 2016-01-13 19:20:22
message user image
Nitin
ok 2016-01-13 19:20:23
message user image
Nitin
Now comes the Indian boards. There are two options which have a good sync with all indian competitive exams. ICSE and CBSE 2016-01-13 19:21:51
message user image
MY HUSBAND WANTS AN I.B. BOARD N I'M TOTALLY CONFUSED 2016-01-13 19:21:56
message user image
OK 2016-01-13 19:22:10
message user image
Nitin
Why does he want IB, I am sure he sees some advantage. what are those.. 2016-01-13 19:22:32
message user image
HE SAYS PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT IS NECESSARY N IN C.B.S.E OVERALL PERSONALITY IS NOT GIVEN IMPORTANCE 2016-01-13 19:23:37
message user image
Nitin
He's got his reasons then 2016-01-13 19:24:16
message user image
Nitin
Between the two boards, IGCSE clearly focuses more on overall development than CBSE 2016-01-13 19:24:48
message user image
OH...K.... 2016-01-13 19:25:05
message user image
Nitin
They have a time tested and proven curriculum for it whereas CBSE is struggling on that front 2016-01-13 19:25:09
message user image
SIR IF YO CAN SUGGEST A GOOD SCHOOL... IT WOULD BE A GREAT HELP 2016-01-13 19:25:38
message user image
Nitin
Having said that, its also true that IB passouts find it tougher to crack Indian competitive exams 2016-01-13 19:26:11
message user image
OH... 2016-01-13 19:26:25
message user image
Nitin
Within Gurgaon, some of the balanced schools within CBSE and ICSE board are Heritage, Shreeram, Shiv Nadar 2016-01-13 19:27:13
message user image
Nitin
These are good options apart from Scottish high which has both boards IGCSE and ICSE 2016-01-13 19:27:41
message user image
BETWEEN THE TWO BOARDS...IS IGCSE BETTER?? 2016-01-13 19:28:17
message user image
Nitin
IGCSE board has its own strengths but you will definitely find it harder as a student to crack Indian competitive exams compared to ICSE or CBSE 2016-01-13 19:29:07
message user image
OH...K.... 2016-01-13 19:30:25
message user image
Nitin
But the schools i have suggested are more balanced options from the current one 2016-01-13 19:31:09
message user image
MY HUSBAND IS KEEN TO GET ADMISSION IN EXCELSIOR AGAIN... HIGH TIME I SHOULD DECIDE SIR...OH....K....ILL TRY ALL THE 3 2016-01-13 19:31:33
message user image
Nitin
what are one or two things you would say are your top concerns for your child's school? 2016-01-13 19:31:48
message user image
HIS OVERALL DEVELOPMENT ALONG WITH ACADEMICS N A LIL BOOST IN HIS CONFIDENCE 2016-01-13 19:33:03
message user image
Nitin
I would suggest both of you to visit these schools and also speak to fellow parents there, and then decide finally. either ways, i agree that you should not change boards so frequently. This could be one final time in case you change boards. Switching schools is still OK within the same board, its not as high a difficult for the child. but changing both together frequently is not good 2016-01-13 19:33:38
message user image
OH...K...SIR 2016-01-13 19:34:14
message user image
Nitin
Academics or competitive exams performance 2016-01-13 19:34:16
message user image
ACADEMICS 2016-01-13 19:34:31
message user image
Nitin
then look between the schools I have suggested including scottish high. You would definitely find one of these to be the most appropriate. The current one is not so much a balanced option 2016-01-13 19:35:32
message user image
TRULY WE ARE NOT SATISFIED AT ALL... JUST MUGGING UP..ILL SURELY VISIT ALL THE 3 SCHOOLS 2016-01-13 19:36:19

heritage, shiv nadar, shreeram, scottish high - so 4 schools 2016-01-13 19:37:25

message user image
Not really but tell me which board is good for her as she is good in everything now 2016-01-13 19:41:06
message user image
I want her overall development but off course studies are more important for me 2016-01-13 19:41:47
message user image
Nitin
If you are satisfied with the education board at the moment, then pls don't look at changing it. 2016-01-13 19:42:02
message user image
As you know our indian psychology we want our kids to be doctor or engineer 2016-01-13 19:42:31

message user image
Indirapuram i s near 2016-01-13 19:44:20
message user image
But noida schools are better i believe 2016-01-13 19:44:38
message user image
I will shift at greater noida 2016-01-13 19:45:04
message user image
Nitin
ok 2016-01-13 19:45:35
message user image
Nitin
Some of the good schools in Indirapuram and around are DAV, Carmel, DLF, & Khaitan public school 2016-01-13 19:46:19
message user image
All have cbse board only? 2016-01-13 19:46:53
message user image
How about GIIS 2016-01-13 19:47:34
message user image
Nitin
is a good option 2016-01-13 19:47:58
message user image
Nitin
The above ones yes 2016-01-13 19:48:07
message user image
Nitin
Apeejay school is also a good option 2016-01-13 19:48:21
message user image
Nitin
Step by step is a good option as well, but a little far from your place 2016-01-13 19:48:49
message user image
Please clear my myth as i believe kids development is better in hyderabad as compared to delhi /ncr 2016-01-13 19:49:00
message user image
Nitin
can you elaborate that? which factors? 2016-01-13 19:49:29
message user image
Approached step by step but didnt get the admission 2016-01-13 19:50:10
message user image
Nitin
ok, could you elaborate the development part pls, as i did not follow 2016-01-13 19:50:33
message user image
Overall development and academics wise 2016-01-13 19:50:38
message user image
Nitin
elaborate overall development 2016-01-13 19:50:52
message user image
English speaking is also good here amongst the kids 2016-01-13 19:51:15
message user image
Nitin
elaborate overall development too for me to understand and suggest 2016-01-13 19:51:58
message user image
Overall means....communication....sports....extra curricular...academics....kids are more confident here while speaking 2016-01-13 19:52:24
message user image
Nitin
Ok, i understand now 2016-01-13 19:53:04
message user image
Nitin
this differs from school to school even within the same city 2016-01-13 19:53:23
message user image
Ok 2016-01-13 19:53:33
message user image
Nitin
which school is your child going to now? 2016-01-13 19:53:34
message user image
Genesis international madinaguda 2016-01-13 19:53:51
message user image
Nitin
ok 2016-01-13 19:54:10
message user image
Nitin
you should evaluate Step by step again next year apart from GIIS, DAV, Pathways 2016-01-13 19:54:57
message user image
Nitin
These are schools which would fit better 2016-01-13 19:55:21
message user image
Ok 2016-01-13 19:55:48
message user image
Nitin
And while i understand your opinion on the difference between schools, i would say that a good school would transcend cities and it may just happen that your child may find the noida school even better 2016-01-13 19:56:13
message user image
Nitin
evaluate these, take your time and then choose the one you are most comfortable with 2016-01-13 19:56:36
message user image
Ok...thnx 2016-01-13 19:56:40
message user image
How is amity international and dps graeter noida 2016-01-13 19:57:11
message user image
Nitin
not as good as the others especially on the parameters you spoke about, they are ok, DPS slightly better than Amity 2016-01-13 19:57:46
message user image
Ok... 2016-01-13 19:58:09
message user image
My daughter is getting admission in giis..so what do you suggest 2016-01-13 19:58:41
message user image
Nitin
GIIS is a good option, but also evaluate the others and then make a final choice 2016-01-13 19:59:12
message user image
Nitin
GIIS would be on similar lines as your child's current school 2016-01-13 19:59:28
message user image
As if now she is good in everything and i dont want to stop her pace 2016-01-13 19:59:38
message user image
Ok...in my society where we bought the house in noida...many kids are going to giis only 2016-01-13 20:00:34
message user image
Nitin
i understand, she's in her best learning years, just provide her the avenues and support her, she will do just fine 2016-01-13 20:00:35

Sure 2016-01-13 20:00:52

Hi, my son is going to be 2 yrs this March. We are planning to put him in a Montessori for a year and thereafter in a school. I have heard that Montessori way of teaching is the best one as it helps in the overall development of the kid, is it true? Also they suggest that it is ideal for a kid to be in Montessori till the age of 5 yrs or so for his overall development. Is that true?
