Hi Mallika, the rash on the baby's back could be because of heat or any other reason. You need to take the child to the paediatrician and get it examined by the doctor only for proper diagnosis and treatment. 2016-05-27 11:04:20

This seems little on the lower side. Few suggestions for his weight gain are Use whole milk and its products like curd, paneer, cheese, buttermilk etc. You may give these as fruit shakes/ fruit lassi. Paneer/cheese can be added to their roti/sandwich/dosa/uttapam/pasta etc. 2016-05-27 11:26:30

Puja Vasisht
Increase his intake of dals/legumes, eggs (hard boiled/ omlette /fried etc. ) poultry/fish (curry, snacks, cutlets, tikka, rice or soup). 2016-05-27 11:26:59

Give more of fruits like mango, banana, cheeku, litchi, grapes, dates. These may be added to their milkshakes as well. Give more of potato, sweet potato, colocassia, yam besides other vegetables. 2016-05-27 11:27:21

Nuts like walnuts, almonds, peanuts and dried fruits like raisins, currants, dried apricot. Calorie rich snacks ideas are Pasta with cheese, egg/potato/cheese parantha made with a little ghee, cheese balls, cheese & paneer sandwich. 2016-05-27 11:28:59

You can totally avoid sugar as fruits can provide natural sweetness. Again for a three year old, no artificial sugar substitutes are recommended. You can use little natural honey/jaggery. 2016-05-27 11:48:22
