During revision use various question words Like enumerate, narrate to make your child familiar Ask your child to read the question few times. Take out the key word or topic and write whatever he/ she knows on it. Some Marks will be ensured. Also reassure that it is ok if she could not answer. That you know she had studied well and some factors are not in our control. Once she has your support then she will not feel pressured 2018-03-10 11:50:47

Prior to exams ensure that your child gets good sleep. Before your child Leaves home reassure that he/ she has studied well and your support is always ensured. When faced with a difficult question- Breathe deeply, sip water if nervous. Exhale through the mouth three times. Come back to the difficult part after completing the paper. 2018-03-10 11:51:02

It is normal to make errors and it is alright as it will help both of you understand where she needs help. Strengthen her concepts and revise accordingly. Give mock tests to reinforce the revision. 2018-03-10 11:57:11

During revision it is best to give timebound tests so that you can gauge where he is struggling or wasting time. He may be writing too much or lingering over short answers. Ask him to attempt the big answers first. 2018-03-10 11:57:58

Whenever a lesson is taught at school, do an immediate revision at home. Explore the lesson with your child. Ask questions or hold mock tests/quizzes that would challenge their creative/lateral thinking skills. Give application based questions as far as possible. This will equip your child to face HOTS (High Order Thinking Skills) questions. You could do this in a group by inviting your child’s friends over. 2018-03-10 11:59:36

My child is developing the habit of cheating in exams. When I try to talk to him about it he comes out with his own views on it that it helps him answer the question he doesn't know, and if I try to make him understand that it is a bad habit he starts arguing with me. I am clueless on how to handle this situation. Please help Ma'am.

Be familiar with the curriculum and methodology expected especially in exams. Does a 5 mark question need only 5 points? Teachers give guidance on such matters. A child with learning disability can be helped to write answers in simple sentences. 2018-03-10 11:59:59
