Vegetables can be boiled and mashed given with little butter/ghee on it. Similarly banana can be well mashed and given as it is or with jaggery powder/ mashed dates, full cream milk. 2015-11-27 13:12:59

Hi Mehak, to make him enjoy food more you need to limit the amount of milk to 500-650 ml maximum per day. You need to fix a schedule of milk and solid feeds, that is 3-4 milk and 3-4 solid feed in a day. 2015-11-27 13:34:12
message user image
Puja Vasisht
Keep a gap of at least 2-3 hours between each feed. 2015-11-27 13:35:12

For his eating habits, you make him eat meals with family. Seeing others eat a variety of foods would encourage him to eat those foods. Offer him variety with new foods and textures to catch is interest in food. You start with different shapes and colours of foods too. Gradually increase those according to his acceptance. 2015-11-27 13:36:26

Hi puja! I have a concern about my 8 months old. She is recently gone on semi solids, and is still on my feed.while she has my feed for now, i am going back to working now and want to slowly get her attuned to solids as well. What could I introduce her to and how could i proceed towards it, should i continue to give her mashed food and till what age and also what do i give? Aldo, she has a semi solids meal twice in the day now, should i increase it or reduce it going fwd. I guve her my feed once in the morning and then once in the night.

Hi Ravi, you continue with mashed foods for now and once teething starts you may offer foods in more solid texture. 2015-11-27 13:39:20

How many milk feeds? 2015-11-27 13:42:53

Puja Vasisht
Introduction of solids depends on teething and ability to chew. Once your baby starts chewing, you may offer bits of solids. Milk feeds could be 3-4 in a day. 2015-11-27 13:44:05

With my feed. Rihht? 2015-11-27 13:44:54

Yes including your feeds, as too much milk, would not leave much appetite for solids. 2015-11-27 13:45:55

Ok 2015-11-27 13:46:14

Carb rich or protein rich? 2015-11-27 13:46:56

At 8 months you can give dals, egg yolk, well mashed vegetables. Below one year we need to concentrate more on calories & protein. 2015-11-27 13:48:08
message user image
Puja Vasisht
The focus is more on carbohydrates along with ample proteins, so we give cereals, fruits, starchy vegetables besides milk, dals, egg 2015-11-27 13:49:11

Hi Ajay, Her weight and height are on the lower side. You can use whole milk for her. You may give few almonds with milk in the morning. For her breakfast give some cereals like dalia/suji porridge with eggs/paneer or parantha. 2015-11-27 13:56:44

Puja Vasisht
At lunch you can give parantha with vegetable and curd/raita of whole cream milk. For evening give her cheese toast/besan cheela. Dinner roti with dal/chicken/aloo subzi. Night time fruit custard/phirni/kheer. 2015-11-27 13:59:15
